30 years of history & excursions

A true institution of the Island of Beauty, the Popeye has been sailing on the waves of the Mediterranean sea to the natural wonders of the Agriate desert since 1991.

Its founder, Jean-François Meï a Saint-Florent native, has known the gulf since his most tender youth and likes to share its history during boat trips from Saint Florent.

The largest natural site protected by the coastal conservatory, the Agriate desert offers 15.000 ha of wild land and over 35km of sea-sculpted coastline. Wilderness, immensity, the Agriate is a landscape of character, a mysterious environment comprised of the largest population of bottlenose dolphins in Corsica. The Agriate desert was a nourishing land for many centuries and was inhabited by breeders and farmers from the Cap Corse and close surrounding regions.
